👉Be sure to cool the onsen egg in cold water or ice water after the time is up to prevent it from cooking further with residual heat.
👉Add an osen egg if you prefer.
👉The cooking outcome of onsen egg varies depending on the thickness of the pot. If using a thin pot, please adjust by leaving it for a slightly longer time, whereas with a thick pot, adjust by reducing the time accordingly.

【1 Making Onsen Eggs 16 minutes】
Rinse and cook 2 cups of rice(3 cups for 4 servings). Pour 1 liter of water into pot with lid and bring it to a boil. Once water is boiling, remove pot from heat. Add 150 ml of water, and carefully place eggs that are still cold, into pot using ladle. Cover pot and let it sit for 11-12 minutes (15-16 minutes for 4 servings). After that, use ladle to remove eggs and place them in cold water to cool.👉 Be sure to remove the pot from the heat before adding the eggs once the water has boiled.
👉 When time comes, take the eggs out and immediately place them in cold water to stop further cooking. Be careful to keep the water from warming up during this process.
👉 Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the pot. Adjust the simmering time accordingly: use a slightly longer time for thin pots and a shorter time for thick ones.
【2 Preparation 3 minutes】
Cut pork belly into 6-7 cm pieces and lightly season one side with salt and pepper. Wash ginger thoroughly and finely chop it with skin on. Finely chop green onion.【3 Preparation 3 minutes】
Put ginger and green onions from step【2】 into bowl, pour special green onion sauce mix on top, and mix well.【4 Stir Frying 7 minutes】
Spread pork from 【2】in frying pan and heat over medium heat. Once both sides of pork have lightly browned, pour in green onion sauce from step 【3】. Stir-fry everything together for 3-4 minutes.👉Since the pork releases its own oils, there is no need to add more oil.。
【5 Plating 1minutes】
Serve rice in bowl and top it with seasoned pork form step 【4】. Sprinkle with chopped seaweed. Crack onsen egg from step [1] in small dish first to ensure egg is properly cooked, then place on top of donburi as you like.👉Crack the onsen egg in the same way you would crack a raw egg.
👉 If you feel like the eggs aren't cooked enough, you can still enjoy them by making sunny-side-up eggs.
👉 Add the onsen egg according to your taste.
